Remote work based in the Cape Town area

Requirements

- Extensive knowledge of Personal Lines and Commercial Lines together with the necessary compliance requirements.

- Minimum 10 years as short term insurance Broker consultant/Relationship manager in the Cape Town area.

- Existing relationships with independent owner-run short-term brokers within the Cape area.

- Salary based on experience, knowledge and extent of existing broker relationships in the Cape region.

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Your initial responsibilities will be to identify potential new brokers for the company within your existing relationships, which would need to be authorized and approved prior to acceptance.

- You would need to drive new business generation with all new and existing brokers as well as monitor each individual brokers loss ratio’s.

- Oversee all aspects of portfolio management and broker relationships in the Cape region including underwriting, claims and certain accounting functions where necessary. 

- You would be expected to build and maintain relationships by visiting all the local Cape brokers and maintaining telephonic and e-mail contact with those brokers out of town.

- Underwriting includes but not limited to, quoting on new business, negotiating Commercial renewal terms and assisting where necessary with general underwriting enquiries. 

- Your responsibilities for claims will be to oversee, visit and train where necessary the local Cape brokers, as well as assist with the general administration of the claims department. 

- These duties may be changed from time to time depending on prevailing circumstances and the requirements of the company.
